Privacy statement
This statement explains what the Leaders Creek app collects, why, who can see it and what you can do about it.
Who runs the app
The Leaders Creek app (tide times and fishing log) is run by Amazing XR (Deb). In this statement, “we” and “us” mean Amazing XR. The app is not run by Leaders Creek Fishing Base, the NT Government or any fishing body.
Contact: deb@amazingmissdeb.com
What we collect
- Your email address, which you use to sign in.
- The first names you enter for yourself and anyone you fish with, including children.
- Catch details: date, time, species, number, length, weight, kept or released, bait or lure, spot, tide, team name, competition name and notes.
- Whether you agreed to this statement and to marketing emails, and when.
- If you join the “Get updates” list on the tides page: your email address. You don’t need an account for this.
This month’s and next month’s tide times and all the safety information work without an account and don’t collect anything about you. A free sign-in shows every other month.
Why we collect it
- To keep your fishing log, back it up and show it to you on your devices.
- To run leaderboards and find the winners of fishing competitions you enter.
- To contact you by email about your account, your entries or a competition you entered.
- Only if you ticked the optional marketing box or joined the “Get updates” list: to email you news, offers, competition alerts, tide reminders and updates about fishing and related products and services.
Marketing emails
Marketing emails come from Amazing XR and are only sent if you agree to them. Every marketing email will say who it’s from and include a way to unsubscribe. You can also switch them off at any time under “Your account” below, and that won’t affect your log.
We don’t sell your information or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
Who can see it
- You can see your own entries and account.
- Amazing XR can see every angler’s entries, first names, team and competition names and email addresses, and gets an email when a new catch is uploaded.
- Other anglers can’t see your entries, your email address or your names.
Where it is stored
- On your phone, so the log works without reception. Catches stay there until they upload. Signing out or clearing your browser data removes the copy on your phone.
- In our online database, provided by Supabase and hosted in Sydney, Australia.
- Emails (sign-in codes and catch notices to Amazing XR) are sent through Resend, an email delivery service that may process them outside Australia.
Children
Children don’t sign up themselves. A parent or guardian can add a child’s catches under the child’s first name only. Please don’t enter a child’s surname, age, school, photo or contact details in any field, including notes.
How long we keep it
Your details and catches are kept until you delete your account, or until we close the app. Copies may remain in catch notice emails already sent to Amazing XR.
Your choices
- Edit or delete any catch from the “My catches” list.
- Switch marketing emails on or off, or delete your account and all your data, below.
- To ask for a copy of your data, a correction or to make a complaint, email Amazing XR at deb@amazingmissdeb.com. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If this statement changes, the date at the top will change. If the change is significant, you’ll be asked to agree again before logging more catches.
